I knew something was up as my period was one week late, which seldom happened before. My period was always regular. I could sense something different. I secretly used a pregnancy test—which was bought a few weeks ago—to have a test I was delighted to see two red lines there. Is it true? I just could not believe it. Later, after I calmed down a little bit, I called Lin. I said softly, “ could you please buy me a good pregnancy test when you come back home tonight?” “Why” he was puzzled. “ Well, just do it.” I knew he would soon realize what’s on.
